Editing or ending a lease
Plans change. Flatren lets you tweak a lease at any time, and end the tenancy cleanly when it's over — with your history kept intact.
Edit a lease
Open the lease
As a tenant, open it from the Leases tab. As a landlord, go property → unit → lease. You'll land on the lease detail screen.
Tap Edit lease
The button sits in the toolbar — it shows for any lease that hasn't ended yet.
Change what you need
You can update the lease name, colour tag, rent, rent frequency (weekly/monthly/yearly), start date, end date, security deposit, and notes. Changing the rent only affects future requests — existing requests keep their amount.
Tap Save
The toolbar Save button stays greyed out until you actually change something, then saves your edits.
End a lease
At the bottom of the lease detail screen is the destructive action — End lease for a landlord, End tenancy for a tenant. Confirm it and the change takes effect immediately: future rent requests are cancelled, the other party is notified, and past payments stay in history. A landlord can start a new lease on the unit afterwards.
Ending doesn't delete anything — the lease is marked ended, its card dims, and all the history stays visible.
