How to add a lease
A lease ties a tenant to a unit and drives everything else in Flatren — rent requests, payment history, and records. Here's how to create one.
Before you start
Make sure you've added the property and the unit the lease belongs to. If you haven't yet, add those first — a lease always lives on a unit.
Create the lease
Open the unit
From a property, tap the unit you want to rent out. You'll land on the unit's detail screen.
Tap New lease
The button sits at the top of the unit's leases section. It opens the new-lease form.
Fill in the required fields
Required fields are marked with an asterisk. At minimum you'll set the monthly rent, the currency, and the start date. The lease name is optional — leave it blank and we'll label the lease by its unit.
Save and invite
Tap Save. Flatren creates the lease and offers an invite link you can send the tenant — they tap it to join and start paying rent.
What happens next
Once the tenant accepts the invite, the lease becomes active and the first rent request appears under Payments. From there you can confirm payments, log past ones, and attach records.
